Our Home-School Agreement

At Grange Park Primary School, we believe that children thrive when parents and staff work together in a close, supportive partnership. Our Home-School Agreement outlines the shared commitments that ensure every child feels safe, valued, and ready to learn.

By enrolling your child at Grange Park, you join us in upholding these core values and expectations across school life.

1. Character & Behaviour We are dedicated to building good character and promoting positive behaviour choices through simple, clear expectations.

  • The Grange Park Way: Ready, Respectful, and Safe.

  • Our Commitment: Staff consistently recognise positive behaviour and follow our clear "Behaviour Pathway" when extra support is needed. Pupils take responsibility for their choices, and parents support the school's expectations and guidance.

2. Learning, Attendance & Uniform

  • In the Classroom: We deliver a balanced, engaging curriculum tailored to every child's needs.

  • At Home: Parents support learning by ensuring children complete home learning tasks on time and read daily.

  • Punctuality & Uniform: Children arrive on time every day in full school uniform, ready to learn.

3. Digital Safety & Technology

Technology is a powerful learning tool, but maintaining balance is essential. We want to reiterate the importance of a 'Balanced Digital Diet'.

  • Active Learning: School Chromebook use focusses on active, educational tasks rather than passive scrolling, and we encourage you to continue these conversations at home.

  • Balanced Digital Diet: We encourage families to set clear screen time limits at home, monitor device use, and promote offline rest, sleep, and exercise.

  • Loan & Usage Agreements: The Home-School Agreement makes specific reference to the Pupil Acceptable Use Agreement (shared via admissions forms) and the 1:1 Chromebook Parent Loan Agreement (issued when your child's device was first distributed). Please refer to these documents to help you and your child remain confident and responsible digital citizens.

4. Communication & Partnership First We believe direct, open conversation is the best way to support your child and resolve any concerns.

  • Talk to Us First: Your child's Class Teacher is always the first point of contact. We ask for personal conversations or meetings rather than lengthy emails.

  • Escalation Pathway: If an issue requires further discussion, it can be escalated to the Achievement Leader, Deputy Headteacher, and Headteacher.

  • Respecting Our Community: We ask parents to raise concerns respectfully, keep correspondence personal, and avoid using social media or group platforms (such as parent WhatsApp groups) to discuss school policy, staff, or other pupils.

5. Well-being & Environment Together, we foster an inclusive, safe environment where pupils build self-confidence and care for the world around them. We model mutual respect, speak positively about our school community, and encourage sustainable habits by reducing, reusing, and recycling.
