SUDS Project and Rain Gardens
Over the summer break, our school grounds got a major eco-friendly upgrade! A government-commissioned Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) project was built to tackle our ongoing surface water and playground flooding issues once and for all.
What’s new on site? 
Rain Gardens: Beautiful, functional green spaces designed to naturally absorb heavy rainfall.
Terraced Water Cells: Safely holding and managing water flow right outside Robin & Kingfisher.
Swales & Pathways: Natural drainage channels featuring granite paths and timber seating areas for outdoor learning and relaxation.
Yesterday, we had some very special guests join us to put the finishing touches on the space! Councillor Maria Alexandrou from @EnfieldCouncil visited along with Martin Jones and Sarah Dillon from the SUDS team.
Members of our student Eco Committee jumped right in, rolling up their sleeves alongside Councillor Alexandrou to help plant a variety of fresh greenery into our new rain gardens!
